Following the disastrous fire which destroyed the 18th Century Clandon House in April 2015 the The Surrey Infantry Museum's Victoria Cross collection has been placed in secure storage. The National Trust, which owns Clandon House, have plans to rebuild the house but this will take several years to complete.

8th May 2017. The National Trust has now informed the Surrey Infantry Museum that they will not be allowed to return to Clandon House following its renovation. Therefore, the museum has taken up a temporary home in the Surrey History Centre.
